The World Cup Stage 1 in Santo Domingo started on Wednesday 1 April 2009. This first day of competition was devoted to the qualifications in the recurve divisions. On the men’s side, BANERJEE (IND) proved the most consistent at the four distances—90, 70, 50 and 30 metres—and took the top seed place. The 2008 World Cup winner MOSPINEK (POL) placed 1st of the recurve women’s qualifications after shooting at 70, 60, 50 and 30 metres.
